How to Draw an Eggplant
Draw an eggplant in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the eggplant.
Step 1: The eggplant
Left of the middle of your paper draw a tall egg, narrow on top and fat below, leaning right.
Tip Like a big fat teardrop standing up.
Step 2: The cap
Over the top draw a leafy cap with 3 points hanging down, the middle one longest.
Step 3: The stem
From the middle of the cap draw a short thick stem of 2 lines curving up right. Round it off.
Step 4: A shine
Inside the left side of the eggplant draw a long thin oval sliver for a shine, near the edge.
Step 5: A slice
Beside the eggplant, low on the right, draw a round slice a bit smaller than your palm.
Tip Leave a small gap, so the slice sits beside the eggplant.
Step 6: Inside the slice
Draw a second round a finger inside the slice for the skin. Dot 6 tiny seeds in a ring inside.
Step 7: The ground
Draw a ground line under the eggplant and the slice, from well left to well right, lifting across them.
Step 8: Grass
At each end of the ground line draw a little tuft of 3 short blades fanning up.
Step 9: Cream slice
Go over your lines. Colour the inside of the slice cream and the seeds tan.
Step 10: Purple eggplant
Colour the eggplant purple below the cap, leaving the shine white, and the slice skin purple.
Step 11: Green cap and stem
Colour the cap and the stem green.
