How to Draw a Drum
Draw a drum in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the drum top.
Step 1: The drum top
Above the middle of your paper draw a big wide oval. Draw a smaller oval just inside it.
Step 2: The barrel body
Start at each end of the oval and draw a side down, bowing out. Join them with a wide smile.
Step 3: Two hoops
Start on the left side under the oval. Draw a smile across to the right side. Repeat near the bottom.
Step 4: Big eyes
Below the middle of the front draw 2 big round eyes. Add a big black dot with a shine.
Step 5: Big smile
From eye to eye draw a line, then a big U joining its ends. Add a tongue hill and cheeks.
Tip Colour the mouth black, but leave the tongue white.
Step 6: Crossed drumsticks
Draw a bead on the drum top with a long thin stick leaning up from it. Add another, crossing it.
Step 7: Boot laces
Between the hoops on the left draw a tall W touching both hoops. Draw another W on the right.
Step 8: Music notes
Left of the drum draw a black oval with a tall stem and a flag. Add another on the right.
Step 9: Puddle shadow
Under the drum draw a long flat oval a little wider than it. Only draw the parts that poke out.
Step 10: Yellow hoops, cream skin
Colour the rim and the 2 hoops yellow. Colour the drum skin inside the rim cream, not the sticks.
Step 11: Pink cheeks, wooden sticks
Colour the cheeks and the tongue pink, and the drumsticks wood brown.
Step 12: Red drum, grey shadow
Colour the drum red between the hoops, around the face. Leave the eyes white. Colour the shadow grey.
Tip Go over all your lines to finish.
