How to Draw Dripping Letters

12 steps · Medium · about 9 min

Draw dripping letters in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the big a.

Print

  1. Step 1: The big A

On the left, draw a fat bubble A with 2 round feet. Start and end at a foot.

Tip Keep the letters in the top half. The drips need room underneath.

  2. Step 2: The A's hole

Inside the top of the A, draw a tiny triangle hole with soft corners.

  3. Step 3: The A drips

Under each foot draw a drip: start at the foot, go down, round the bottom and back up to it.

Tip Make one drip long and one short. Then rub out the foot line inside each drip.

  4. Step 4: The big B

Next to the A, draw a fat B. Start with the straight stem, add 2 round bumps back to it.

  5. Step 5: The B's holes

Inside the B, draw 2 small rounded holes, one in each bump, a fat band away from the outline.

  6. Step 6: The B drips

Start under the B and draw 2 drips down and back up to it, one short and one very long.

Tip Rub out the bit of the letter's bottom line inside each drip.

  7. Step 7: The big C

Next to the B, after a gap, draw a fat C from its top tip round to its bottom tip.

  8. Step 8: The C drips

Start under the C and draw 2 more drips down and back up to it, one long and one short.

Tip Rub out the C's line inside each drip, just like before.

  9. Step 9: Falling drops

Under the longest drip of each letter, draw a little falling drop: a point on top, a round bottom.

  10. Step 10: Yellow C

Colour the C yellow, its drips and its falling drop too.

  11. Step 11: Red A

Colour the A, its 2 drips and its drop red. Leave the little hole white.

  12. Step 12: Blue B

Colour the B, its drips and its drop blue, around the 2 holes. Go over your lines. You're done!
