How to Draw a Drill
Draw a drill in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the body.
Step 1: The body
Above the middle of your paper draw a long rounded box lying on its side, wider than tall.
Tip Like a loaf of bread lying down.
Step 2: The chuck
On the right end of the body draw a shorter box, a little narrower going right. It holds the bit.
Step 3: Two big eyes
On the body draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a white shine.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile from eye to eye. Draw a small flat oval cheek beside each end.
Step 5: Handle and trigger
Under the left of the body draw a slanted handle down. Add a round trigger bump at its front top.
Tip The handle is about as long as the body is tall.
Step 6: The battery
Under the handle draw a flat rounded box, wider than the handle, for the battery.
Step 7: The bit
From the middle of the chuck draw a thin pointed bar out right, with a short line along it.
Step 8: Vent lines
Draw 2 short lines down the left end of the body, and 2 lines down the chuck.
Step 9: The table
Draw a table line under the battery, out past both sides.
Step 10: Sparkles
Around the drill draw 3 small four-point sparkles, not touching it.
Step 11: Yellow and pink
Go over your lines, then colour the body and battery yellow and the cheeks pink. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Grey and slate
Colour the bit grey, and the handle, trigger and chuck slate. Your drill is ready to whirr!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a drill, drawn by you.
