How to Draw Mismatched Socks
Draw mismatched socks in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the first sock.
Step 1: The first sock
Left of the middle draw a sock, foot pointing left: a tall ankle, a round heel and a round toe.
Tip Mismatched socks are more fun: one striped, one spotty!
Step 2: Two big eyes
On the ankle draw 2 round eyes side by side. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a white shine.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a small U smile, and an oval cheek under each eye.
Step 4: The second sock
To the right draw the same sock shape again, foot pointing left too.
Step 5: A second face
Give the second sock a face too, at the same height: 2 round eyes, a little U smile and cheeks.
Step 6: Two cuffs
Across the top of each sock draw a flat cuff box, as wide as the sock.
Step 7: Heels and toes
On both socks, curve a heel line from back to sole and a toe line from sole to top.
Step 8: Stripes and spots
Draw 2 stripes across the first sock, above and below the face. Scatter round spots on the second sock's foot.
Step 9: Ground and sparkles
Draw a ground line under the socks from left to right, and a sparkle in the air above each toe.
Step 10: Yellow stripes, white spots
Colour the stripes yellow, the spots white, and the cuffs white too.
Step 11: Pink cheeks, yellow sparkles
Colour the cheeks pink and the 2 sparkles yellow.
Step 12: Blue sock, red sock
Colour the first sock blue and the second red, around the faces, cuffs, stripes and spots. Odd socks, happy feet!
Tip Leave the eyes white.
