How to Draw a Dog Face
Draw a dog face in 9 easy steps, about 7 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
In the middle of your paper draw one big oval, a little wider than tall. Fill most of the page!
Tip Leave a little room above for the tuft and beside for the ears.
Step 2: Floppy ears
Start high on each side of the head. Draw a long fat ear out and down, back to the head.
Tip The inside edge of each ear is the head line you already drew.
Step 3: Eyes and a patch
Just above the middle draw 2 egg eyes with black dots. Draw an oval patch round the right eye.
Tip Leave a tiny white speck in each dot for the shine.
Step 4: Snout and nose
Under the eyes draw a wide oval inside the head. Sit a black triangle nose on top, point down.
Step 5: Smile and tongue
From the nose draw a short line down to a little w. Hang a U tongue from its middle.
Tip The tongue pokes out below the oval. Rub out the line inside it.
Step 6: A fur tuft
On top of the head draw 3 soft round fur bumps, from head line to head line.
Tip The middle bump is the tallest. Rub out the head line under the tuft.
Step 7: Freckles
Dot 3 freckles on each side of the nose, inside the snout oval.
Step 8: Colour the fur tan
Colour the head and the tuft tan around the eye patch and the tongue. Leave the eyes white.
Step 9: Brown ears, pink tongue
Colour the 2 floppy ears and the eye patch brown, and colour the tongue pink.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a dog face, drawn by you.
