How to Draw a Dirtbike

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a dirtbike in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: two big wheels.

Print

  1. Step 1: Two big wheels

Low on your paper draw 2 big circles the same size. Inside each draw a smaller circle and a hub.

Tip The gap between the wheels is a bit less than one wheel.

  2. Step 2: Front fender

Just over the front tyre draw a thin rainbow fender, leaving a small gap above the tyre.

  3. Step 3: Number plate

Above the front fender draw a soft square number plate. Draw a big number 1 inside it.

  4. Step 4: Fat fork

Draw a fat tube slanting down from above the plate to the front hub.

  5. Step 5: Gas tank

Start on the fork beside the plate. Draw a flat-topped tank with a round bottom, back to the fork.

Tip Keep the top flat: a dirtbike has no big hump.

  6. Step 6: Seat and tail

Draw a long flat seat from the tank over the back wheel. Tuck a pointed fender under its back half.

  7. Step 7: Engine and frame

Under the tank draw a round engine, a bar to the back hub and a tube up to the fender.

  8. Step 8: Exhaust pipe

Draw a fat pipe from the engine's front, under it, to the back tyre. Add a circle on the engine.

  9. Step 9: Handlebar

From the fork top draw a short bar slanting back. Add a fat round grip on its end.

  10. Step 10: Spokes and ground

In each wheel draw 4 spokes from the hub to the rim, like an X. Draw a ground line under.

  11. Step 11: Knobby tread

Round each tyre draw 10 little square bumps sticking out. Leave a gap at the ground.

Tip Space them evenly. The fork and the back bar each hide one.

  12. Step 12: Yellow and grey

Go over your lines. Colour the number plate yellow. Colour the metal grey: engine, fork, bars, frame, pipe and hubs.

  13. Step 13: Red and dark grey

Colour the tank and fenders red around the fork. Colour the tyres, grip and seat dark grey.
