How to Draw a Tour Bus

14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw a tour bus in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: tall coach body.

Print

  1. Step 1: Tall coach body

Start low on the left. Go up, along a long roof, and down the back. Stop level with the start.

Tip A tour bus is a tall box: windows ride up high, luggage goes below.

  2. Step 2: Belly and tyres

Draw the flat belly back to the start with 2 rainbow bumps. Under each draw a tyre with a hub.

  3. Step 3: Headlight face

Low on the front draw a big eye with a pupil. Add a U smile below, a cheek beside it.

  4. Step 4: Windscreen and door

Draw a tall windscreen with a shine. Behind it draw a thin door, split into 2 from side to side.

  5. Step 5: Four high windows

Behind the door draw a row of 4 big windows the same size, a finger apart, high under the roof.

Tip The windows sit high, because the passengers sit on top of the luggage hold.

  6. Step 6: Long stripe

Under the windows draw 2 long lines a finger apart. Start at the door and stop at the back.

  7. Step 7: Luggage doors

Under the stripe draw 2 wide flat boxes side by side, a finger apart, for the luggage doors.

  8. Step 8: Roof pod

On the roof, near the middle, draw a low flat box. Start and stop on the roof line.

  9. Step 9: Mirror and bumper

From the front corner draw a small bumper, back to the front. High up, add a mirror on a stalk.

  10. Step 10: The road

Start in front of the bumper. Draw a long road line under both tyres, stopping behind the bus.

  11. Step 11: Cream coach, pink cheek

Go over your lines. Colour the bus cream around the windows, eye, stripe and luggage doors, and the cheek pink.

  12. Step 12: Sky windows, yellow light

Colour all the windows sky blue, leaving the shine white. Colour the headlight yellow.

  13. Step 13: Teal stripe, slate doors

Colour the long stripe and the roof pod teal. Colour the luggage doors dark slate.

  14. Step 14: Black tyres, grey bits

Colour the hubs, bumper and mirror grey. Colour the tyres black, going around the hubs.
