How to Draw a Tigerfish
Draw a tigerfish in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: long egg body.
Step 1: Long egg body
Draw a C face on the left. From its top, draw a long rainbow ending at a short neck. Same underneath.
Step 2: Huge eye
High in the front of the body, draw one huge eye. Add a black pupil with 2 shines.
Step 3: Mouth full of fangs
Draw a smile from the face up to a corner, a lip from the chin to it, and 4 long fangs.
Tip Long pointy teeth are what a tigerfish is famous for.
Step 4: Forked tail
Draw a line across the neck. Start at its top, draw a pointed fin ending at a dent. Match it below.
Tip The 2 points are the same size, like a letter V on its side.
Step 5: Top fin
Start on the back near the middle. Draw a sail leaning back, ending on the back. Add 2 rays.
Step 6: Gill
A finger behind the eye, draw a short C bowing toward the tail, not touching the back or belly.
Step 7: Tiger stripes
Behind the gill, draw 3 long thin leaf stripes along the body, all pointing at the tail.
Tip Keep every stripe inside the body, with a gap between them.
Step 8: Side fin
Under the stripes, draw a fat leaf fin lying flat, pointing toward the tail. Add 2 rays.
Step 9: Belly fin
Start on the belly behind the side fin. Draw a small sail leaning back, and stop back on the belly.
Step 10: Sand and seaweed
Draw a wavy sand line from edge to edge. Add 2 seaweed blades on the left, one on the right.
Step 11: Sandy floor, green seaweed
Colour the sand under the line sandy and the seaweed green.
Step 12: Silver-grey fish
Colour the body grey, around the stripes and the side fin. Leave the eye and mouth white.
Step 13: Orange fins, red mouth
Colour the tail and all 3 fins orange. Colour the mouth red around the fangs.
Step 14: Black stripes
Colour the 3 stripes black. Go over your lines and your tigerfish is done!
