How to Draw a Dachshund
Draw a dachshund in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: round head.
Step 1: Round head
Near the top left draw a soft round head, with room on its left for a long nose.
Step 2: Long nose and eye
From the head draw a long nose out to a black tip, with a smile. Add one big eye.
Tip The nose is almost as long as the head. Black dot and shine in the eye.
Step 3: Floppy ear
From the top of the head behind the eye, draw a long floppy ear hanging down past the chin.
Step 4: The neck
From under the ear draw a line down to the back, and one from the chin down to the chest.
Step 5: Long bean body
From the neck draw a long back, a round bottom, then the tummy back to the chest.
Tip Make the body about 3 times as long as it is tall.
Step 6: 2 legs
Draw a ground line. From the chest draw a short leg down to a round foot. Same under the bottom.
Tip Each foot sits flat on the ground, with 2 toe lines.
Step 7: Far legs
Draw the far legs peeking out, one behind the front leg and one in front of the back leg.
Step 8: Banana tail
From the top corner of the bottom draw a long thin tail curving up to a round tip, and back.
Step 9: Tan tummy
Between the front and back legs, draw a tummy curve. Colour the tummy tan.
Step 10: Colour it brown
Go over your lines. Colour the rest of the dog brown, around the tan tummy. Keep the eye white.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a dachshund, drawn by you.
