How to Draw a Person Riding a Bike

14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw a person riding a bike in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: two wheels.

Print

  1. Step 1: Two wheels

Draw a ground line. Draw 2 big circles the same size sitting on it, each with a tiny hub.

Tip Trace round a cup so the wheels match.

  2. Step 2: Fork and handlebar

Start at the front hub. Draw a fat stick leaning up, a pill on top, then hook a handlebar forward.

  3. Step 3: Low frame sticks

Draw a chain wheel low between the wheels. Join it to the pill and the back hub with fat sticks.

  4. Step 4: Top frame sticks

Draw a fat stick up from the chain wheel. From its top, draw sticks to the pill and back hub.

  5. Step 5: Saddle and rims

Draw a saddle on top of the middle stick. Inside each wheel draw a smaller circle for the rim.

  6. Step 6: Head and helmet

High above the handlebar draw a big egg head. Add a round helmet on top with 2 curved lines.

Tip A big head makes your rider look friendly.

  7. Step 7: Leaning body

Start under the chin. Draw a bean body leaning back and down. Stop on the saddle.

Tip Cyclists lean forward to reach the handlebar.

  8. Step 8: The face

Under the helmet draw 2 big oval eyes with dots, a small U nose and a wide smile.

  9. Step 9: Arm and hand

From the shoulder draw an arm that gets thinner, bends at the elbow and ends in a mitten.

  10. Step 10: Near leg

From the hip draw a leg down to the knee, then to a shoe on a flat pedal.

Tip Make the leg thick at the top and thin at the ankle.

  11. Step 11: Far leg

Draw the other leg with its knee up in front, bending down behind the frame to a shoe.

  12. Step 12: Skin and shirt

Colour the face and hand peach and the body and arm yellow. Leave the eyes white.

  13. Step 13: Grey and red

Colour the hubs, chain wheel, handlebar and pedal light grey. Colour the helmet and all the frame sticks red.

  14. Step 14: Blue and dark grey

Colour both legs blue. Colour the tyres, saddle and shoes dark grey.

Tip Your cyclist is ready to ride!
