How to Draw Curly Hair
Draw curly hair in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top draw a big egg head: wide and round at the top, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Make it big: the hair needs room on top, the eyes need room too.
Step 2: Big eyes
Below the head's middle draw 2 tall oval eyes, an eye apart, with a black dot and shine in each.
Step 3: Nose, smile and brows
Draw a tiny U nose below the eyes, then a wide smile with curled ends. Add rainbow eyebrows.
Step 4: Hairline
Start on the left cheek. Draw the hairline up and across the forehead, then down to the right cheek.
Step 5: Big curly puff
From the hairline's left end draw a huge bumpy cloud of curls over the head, ending on the right.
Tip Much bigger than the head: curly hair is big. Rub out the head inside.
Step 6: Curls on top
Draw 3 little swirls across the top of the hair, each spiralling out from its middle.
Step 7: Curls at the sides
Draw one more swirl on each side of the hair, level with the eyes.
Step 8: Neck and shirt
Under the chin draw 2 neck lines and sloping shoulders down to a flat bottom. Add a U collar.
Step 9: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour the face and neck peach, with a soft pink oval on each cheek. Leave the eyes white.
Step 10: Brown hair, red shirt
Colour the hair brown and the shirt red. Go over your lines.
