How to Draw a Cruller
Draw a cruller in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a plate.
Step 1: A plate
Below the middle draw a big flat oval plate, almost as wide as the page. Add an oval just inside.
Tip The plate comes first; the cruller lies on it.
Step 2: Fluted ring
On the plate draw a big flat oval with 10 soft bumps all the way round.
Tip A cruller is a twisted ring donut with deep ridges.
Step 3: The hole
A little above the middle, draw a small flat bumpy oval for the hole, with 10 little dents.
Step 4: Ridges on top
From the top 5 dents draw a curved line out to the outside dip, all leaning the same way.
Step 5: Ridges below
Draw the other 5 ridge lines the same way round the bottom.
Step 6: Thick side
Under the front draw a bumpy curve from the left end to the right. Join the dips with short lines.
Tip The side shows the cruller lying flat on the plate.
Step 7: Inside the hole
Inside the hole, draw a curve from its left end, arching up under the top edge, to its right end.
Step 8: The table
Draw a table line under the plate from far left to far right, just touching its bottom.
Step 9: Sky plate
Go over your lines. Colour the plate sky blue around the cruller, and the hole under the curve.
Step 10: Golden cruller
Colour the ring's top, its side and the wall in the hole ginger. Done!
