How to Draw a Cream Puff

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a cream puff in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the top bun.

Print

  1. Step 1: The top bun

Above the middle draw a wide, round bun top with soft lumps all round, as big as your fist.

Tip Keep it wide and lumpy, with no point on top.

  2. Step 2: The cream

Start at the left end of the bun. Draw bulging cream, bumpy along the bottom, up to the right end.

  3. Step 3: The bottom bun

Start just left of the cream. Bow down and round underneath, and stop at the right.

  4. Step 4: Chocolate top

Start on the left side of the bun. Draw a wavy line with 3 soft drips across to the right side.

  5. Step 5: A plate

Under the bun draw a long flat oval plate.

Tip Lift your pencil where the plate passes behind the bun.

  6. Step 6: The rim

Just inside the plate draw a second flat oval for the rim.

  7. Step 7: The table

Draw a table line under the plate from far left to far right, touching its bottom.

  8. Step 8: White filling

Go over your lines. Leave the cream white, or colour it with a white crayon.

  9. Step 9: Sky plate

Colour the plate sky blue, going around the bottom bun.

  10. Step 10: Tan bun

Colour the top and bottom bun tan, going round the chocolate.

  11. Step 11: Brown chocolate

Colour the chocolate top brown. Your cream puff is done!
