How to Draw a Cracked Egg
Draw a cracked egg in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the bottom shell.
Step 1: The bottom shell
On the left draw a big deep U for the bottom shell. Start high, stop level with your start.
Tip Make it taller than it is wide, with a round bottom.
Step 2: The broken edge
Start at the left tip of the U. Draw a soft wavy line across and stop at the right tip.
Tip Three soft round humps, not sharp teeth.
Step 3: The top shell
On the right draw a smaller U tipped on its side. Start high, curve round, stop low near the cup.
Tip It rests on its round side.
Step 4: Its broken edge
Start at the top tip of the tipped shell. Draw a soft wavy line down, stopping at the bottom tip.
Step 5: Spilled egg white
Draw a wide flat wobbly puddle that both shells stand in, poking out a little past each shell.
Tip The shells stand in the puddle, so the puddle line hides behind them.
Step 6: The yolk
In the middle of the puddle, between the shells, draw a big round yolk poking up above the puddle.
Step 7: Yolk shine
Near the top left of the yolk draw a tiny tilted oval for a shine.
Step 8: A crack
Start at the first dip of the cup's wavy edge. Draw a short zigzag crack down, then stop.
Step 9: The table
Draw a line from far left to far right, just touching the bottom of the puddle.
Step 10: Colour the shells
Go over your lines, then colour both shells sand. Leave the puddle white.
Step 11: Yellow yolk
Colour the yolk yellow, around its shine. Leave the shine and the egg white white.
