How to Draw a Biscuit

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a biscuit in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a plate.

Print

  1. Step 1: A plate

Below the middle draw a long flat oval plate, and a second oval just inside it for the rim.

  2. Step 2: The biscuit

On the plate draw a big soft dome as wide as your hand, with a rounded top and bulging sides.

Tip Soft and puffy, like a fat bun.

  3. Step 3: The top rim

A little down from the top draw a bowed line across the biscuit, from side to side.

  4. Step 4: Flaky layers

Across the sides draw 2 wavy lines from the left edge to the right edge, one below the other.

  5. Step 5: A pat of butter

On the top draw a small square of butter lying flat: a tilted diamond with 2 short sides under it.

  6. Step 6: A drip

From the bottom of the butter draw a short U drip with a round end, above the first wavy line.

  7. Step 7: Table and crumbs

Draw a table line under the plate from left to right, and 3 tiny lumpy crumbs on the plate.

  8. Step 8: Butter and sides

Go over your lines. Colour the butter and drip yellow, then the sides cream around them.

  9. Step 9: Tan top

Colour the top above the rim tan around the butter, and the crumbs tan too.

  10. Step 10: Blue plate

Colour the plate sky blue around the biscuit and crumbs, and your biscuit is done!
