How to Draw a Couch

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a couch in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the back.

Print

  1. Step 1: The back

In the middle of your paper draw a long rectangle with rounded corners, most of the way across.

  2. Step 2: 3 cushions

Along the bottom of the back draw 3 rounded seat cushions side by side, tucked in front of it.

  3. Step 3: 2 big eyes

In the middle of the back draw 2 big egg eyes, one eye apart. Colour a black dot in each.

  4. Step 4: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a wide U smile from eye to eye. Add a cheek beside each end.

  5. Step 5: The arms

On each end draw a tall rounded arm like a fat pill standing up, overlapping the back and end cushion.

  6. Step 6: Legs and floor

From under each arm draw a short square leg down, across, and up to the arm. Add a floor line.

  7. Step 7: A pillow

Sitting on the left cushion, draw a puffy tilted pillow with soft corners. Stop where it meets the cushion.

  8. Step 8: Sparkles

Draw 3 sparkle stars in the air above the couch.

  9. Step 9: Pink cheeks, yellow sparkles

Go over your lines, then colour the cheeks pink and the sparkles yellow.

  10. Step 10: Wood legs, teal couch

Colour the legs wood brown, and the back and arms teal, around the face and pillow. Keep the eyes white.

  11. Step 11: Navy cushions, red pillow

Colour the 3 seat cushions navy and the pillow red. Your couch is done!
