How to Draw a Cotton Candy Machine

12 steps · Medium · about 9 min

Draw a cotton candy machine in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the drum rim.

Print

  1. Step 1: The drum rim

In the middle, draw a big flat oval, almost as wide as the page, for the top of the drum.

  2. Step 2: The drum

From the left end of the oval, draw a line down and round to the right end, like a tub.

  3. Step 3: A band

Draw a curve across the drum below the rim, bending down like the rim, from side to side.

  4. Step 4: The stand

Start under the drum. Draw 2 short neck lines down to a wide flat base, a long low box.

  5. Step 5: Fluff inside

Inside the rim, draw a bumpy cloud of soft lumps from the left of the rim over to the right.

  6. Step 6: The stick

From the top of the fluff, right of the middle, draw a thin stick leaning up to the right.

  7. Step 7: Cotton candy

On the end of the stick, draw a round fluffy cloud with soft even bumps, and a little curl.

  8. Step 8: Knob and switch

On the left of the base, draw a little round knob. On the right, draw a small box switch.

  9. Step 9: The floor

Draw a line under the base from well left to well right.

  10. Step 10: Pink fluff

Go over your lines. Colour the fluff in the drum and the cotton candy pink. Leave the stick white.

  11. Step 11: Sky drum

Colour the drum and the rim sky blue, around the pink fluff.

  12. Step 12: Red stand

Colour the neck and base red. Your cotton candy machine is done!
