How to Draw a Connecticut State Flag
Draw a connecticut state flag in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: pole and ground.
Step 1: Pole and ground
Draw a tall thin pole on the left, a ball on top, and a ground line from edge to edge.
Step 2: The waving flag
Start on the pole below the ball. Draw a wavy top edge, a straight right side, a wavy bottom edge.
Tip Make the flag big and nearly square. It has to hold a shield and a ribbon.
Step 3: The shield
In the middle of the flag draw a big shield: a flat top, 2 straight sides, a pointed bottom.
Step 4: Shield border
Just inside the shield draw the same shape again, a little smaller, to make a thin border.
Step 5: Three grape bunches
In the shield draw 3 bumpy upside-down triangles of grapes: 2 side by side, 1 below in the middle.
Tip Each bunch has 3 bumps on top, then 2, then 1.
Step 6: Vine leaves
On top of each bunch draw 2 small pointed leaves, spreading up and out like a V.
Tip These are grapevines. There are 3 on the real flag.
Step 7: The ribbon
Under the shield draw a long ribbon curving up at both ends. Cut a V notch into each end.
Tip On the real flag the ribbon has 3 Latin words on it.
Step 8: Yellow and grey
Colour the ball and the thin border of the shield yellow. Colour the pole grey.
Step 9: Green leaves
Colour the 6 small leaves green.
Step 10: Purple grapes
Colour the 3 bunches of grapes purple.
Step 11: Blue flag
Colour the flag blue around the shield and the ribbon. Leave the shield and the ribbon white.
Tip Colour slowly round the shield. Inside it stays white.
