How to Draw a Computer

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a computer in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the monitor.

Print

  1. Step 1: The monitor

At the top middle of your paper, draw a wide TV shape with soft corners, wider than it is tall.

Tip About one and a half times wider than tall.

  2. Step 2: The screen

Draw the screen a finger inside the edge, with a big chin. Add a chin button and a corner glint.

  3. Step 3: Eyes and cheeks

On the screen, draw 2 big round eyes with black dots. Add an oval cheek below each eye.

  4. Step 4: Neck and foot

Under the chin, draw 2 short neck lines that lean out, down to a wide flat foot.

Tip The foot is wide and flat, about a hand across.

  5. Step 5: Big smile

Draw a wide U smile from one cheek over to the other. Draw a straight top line. Add a tongue.

  6. Step 6: The desk top

Behind the foot, draw a wide desk top with slanted ends. Add a thick edge along its front.

Tip The desk is a hand wider than the foot on each side.

  7. Step 7: Legs and floor

From each end of the desk edge, draw a short leg down to a floor line, wider than the desk.

  8. Step 8: The keyboard

On the desk, a finger under the foot, draw a long flat box for the keyboard, a thumb tall.

  9. Step 9: Keys and space bar

Draw a line across the keyboard halfway down. Split the top into 4 keys. Add a pill space bar below.

  10. Step 10: Mouse and cord

Right of the keyboard, draw an oval mouse. Draw a lazy S cord from the mouse over to the keyboard.

  11. Step 11: Sky screen, pink cheeks

Colour the screen sky blue around the eyes and mouth. Leave the eyes white. Colour the cheeks and tongue pink.

  12. Step 12: Stone keyboard, wood desk

Colour the keyboard and mouse stone grey, then the desk and legs wood brown around them and the foot.

  13. Step 13: Slate monitor, black mouth

Colour the frame, neck and foot slate grey, around the screen. Colour the mouth black around the tongue.
