How to Draw a Clown Loach
Draw a clown loach in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: arched back, flat tummy.
Step 1: Arched back, flat tummy
Start on the right. Draw a humped back to a pointy snout, then a flat tummy, stop under the start.
Tip Leave the right end open for the tail.
Step 2: Eye and smile
Draw a big round eye behind the snout. From the snout tip draw a small smile, stopping before the eye.
Step 3: 2 whiskers
Start on the chin under the snout. Draw 2 thin whiskers hanging down, each ending in a little curl.
Step 4: Forked tail
Start at the end of the back. Draw a point up and back, scoop to a dent, stop. Same below.
Step 5: 3 round fins
Start on the back, draw a round fin, stop on the back. Add 2 small tummy fins the same way.
Step 6: 3 bold bands
Draw 3 wide bands from back to tummy, one round the eye, one in the middle, one at the tail.
Tip The first band wears the eye like a mask.
Step 7: Side fin
Start on the eye band's back edge, draw a pointed fin sweeping down, stop on the edge. Add 2 rays.
Step 8: Bubbles
Above the snout draw 3 bubbles floating up, each one bigger.
Step 9: Sand line
Start at the left edge. Draw a wavy sand line right across the bottom to the right edge.
Step 10: Seaweed
From the sand grow 3 tall wavy seaweed leaves with pointed tips, 2 on the left, 1 on the right.
Step 11: Blue bubbles, sandy floor
Colour the bubbles light blue and the floor under the sand line sandy.
Step 12: Orange fish, green seaweed
Colour the snout and the gaps between the bands orange, but not the side fin. Colour the seaweed green.
Step 13: Red fins, black bands
Colour the tail and every fin red. Colour the 3 bands black, leaving the eye white.
