How to Draw a Sweet Potato
Draw a sweet potato in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the sweet potato.
Step 1: The sweet potato
In the middle draw a long sweet potato lying down, fat on the left and pointy on the right.
Tip Lift the pointy end a little.
Step 2: A happy face
In the middle draw 2 big egg eyes, a U smile under them, and a tiny cheek beside each end.
Step 3: Little skin marks
Draw 4 small thin ovals for skin marks, 2 on each side and well away from the face.
Step 4: A shine
Inside the fat left end draw a thin oval sliver for a shine, well in from the edge.
Step 5: A leafy sprout
From the right tip draw a short curvy stem up, stopping at the top. Hang 3 heart leaves on it.
Step 6: The ground
Draw a ground line under the sweet potato, just touching its bottom, from well left to well right.
Step 7: Pink cheeks
Go over your lines, then colour the 2 cheeks pink.
Step 8: Copper skin
Colour the skin coppery ginger around the cheeks and marks, leaving the eyes and the shine white.
Step 9: Green leaves
Colour the 3 heart leaves green.
Step 10: Brown marks
Colour the 4 little skin marks brown. Your sweet potato is done!

Your finished drawing
