How to Draw the Chrysler Building
Draw the Chrysler Building in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the wide base.
Step 1: The wide base
Low on your paper draw a wide, short box for the bottom of the building.
Step 2: Block and tower
On top draw a narrower short box. On that draw a tall, thin box for the tower.
Step 3: The first crown arch
Start at the left end of the tower top. Draw a wide upside-down bowl and stop at the right end.
Tip The crown is a stack of shining arches, like a sunrise.
Step 4: 3 more arches
Stack 3 more arches on top, each one smaller. Each one starts and stops on the arch under it.
Step 5: Sunburst lines
Inside the 2 biggest arches draw 3 short lines fanning up from the bottom middle, like rays.
Step 6: The spire
From the top arch draw a tall thin needle pointing straight up, almost to the top of the paper.
Step 7: Doors and windows
At the bottom draw a box split down the middle. Add a row of windows on each short box.
Step 8: Tower lines
Draw 3 rows of 3 short lines down the tower for its tall windows.
Step 9: Ground and cloud
Draw the ground line across the bottom of the page, and a puffy cloud on the left.
Step 10: Tan building
Colour the base, the block and the tower tan, going around the windows and doors.
Step 11: Blue windows, white cloud
Colour the windows sky blue and the cloud white.
Step 12: Grey crown, dark doors
Colour the arches and spire grey and the doors dark grey. Your Chrysler Building is done!
