How to Draw a Christmas Puppy

Step 1: Big round head

In the middle of your paper, draw a big egg on its side for the head.

Tip Leave lots of room above the head for the hat.

Step 2: Floppy ears

From each top corner of the head, draw a long floppy ear hanging down past the cheek.

Tip Each ear is like a long sock with a round toe.

Step 3: Big eyes

In the middle of the head, draw 2 big oval eyes, one eye apart. Add black dots and white shines.

Step 4: Snout and nose

Under the eyes draw a wide oval snout. At its top, draw a rounded triangle nose and colour it black.

Tip Keep the snout clear of the eyes.

Step 5: Smile and tongue

From the nose draw a short line down into a wide W smile. Hang a small U tongue under it.

Step 6: Fur band

Across the head top, draw a long fat sausage over the tops of the ears. Rub out the lines inside it.

Tip This is the fluffy white edge of a Santa hat.

Step 7: Floppy hat

From the band, draw a tall hill flopping right, then back to the band. Add a pom-pom on its tip.

Tip The pom-pom hangs high above the ear.

Step 8: Plump body

Draw a ground line. From under each ear, draw a big C down to the ground.

Tip The body is about as wide as the head.

Step 9: Front legs

Start under the chin and draw 2 U legs down to fat mitten paws. Add 2 toe lines on each.

Tip Wide at the top, thinner at the ankle.

Step 10: Back paws

Beside each front paw, draw a bun paw poking out from the body. Add 2 toe lines.

Step 11: Wagging tail

Start on the right side of the body. Draw a short thick tail curving up to a round tip.

Step 12: Red hat, pink tongue

Colour the floppy hat red and the tongue pink. Leave the fur band, the pom-pom and the snout white.

Step 13: Tan fur

Colour the head, body, legs, paws and tail tan, around the snout. Leave the ears and eyes white.

Step 14: Brown ears

Go over your lines. Colour the 2 floppy ears brown.
