How to Draw a Chocolate Cupcake
Draw a chocolate cupcake in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: paper cup.
Step 1: Paper cup
Below the middle, start on the left. Draw a wide U for the cup and stop level on the right.
Tip The cup narrows toward the bottom like a flower pot.
Step 2: Big frosting
Start left of the cup top. Draw a puffy frosting shape with 6 fat drips, and stop where you began.
Step 3: Middle swirl
On top of the frosting, draw a smaller puffy swirl. Start and stop on the frosting's top line.
Step 4: Round top
On top of that, draw a small round hill. Start and stop on the swirl's top line.
Step 5: Cherry on top
Draw a round cherry on top. Start a curved stem on the cherry and stop at a little leaf.
Step 6: Paper pleats
From each of the 4 middle drips, draw a gentle line down to the bottom of the cup.
Step 7: Sprinkles
Draw 9 tiny sausage sprinkles on the frosting, tilted different ways and spread apart.
Step 8: A plate
Start left of the cup, level with its bottom. Draw a flat oval plate behind the cup, back to start.
Step 9: Pink and yellow sprinkles
Colour the sprinkles pink and yellow.
Step 10: Blue cup, brown frosting
Colour the paper cup sky blue. Colour all the frosting brown, around the sprinkles.
Step 11: Red cherry, green leaf
Colour the cherry red, leaving a little white shine, and the leaf green. Leave the plate white.
