How to Draw Chicken and Waffles

14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw chicken and waffles in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a plate.

Print

  1. Step 1: A plate

In the middle draw a big oval plate, nearly page wide. Add a second oval a finger inside.

  2. Step 2: The waffle

Inside the rim draw an oval waffle top, a bit more than half as wide as the plate.

Tip Chicken and waffles is crispy fried chicken served on a waffle, with syrup.

  3. Step 3: The waffle's side

From the oval's left end draw down a little, curve under like a smile, and up to its right end.

  4. Step 4: The chicken

On the back left of the waffle draw a round chicken lump with 3 soft bumps on its left.

  5. Step 5: The bone

From the lump's right side draw a short bone out to the right, with 2 little rounds on its end.

  6. Step 6: Butter

On the front right of the waffle draw a small square of butter lying flat, like a tilted box.

  7. Step 7: Syrup

Round the butter draw a flat wobbly syrup puddle along the front edge. Let it run over in 3 drips.

  8. Step 8: Lines down

Draw 4 lines down the waffle top, back edge to front edge. Stop at the chicken, butter and syrup.

  9. Step 9: Lines across

Draw 4 lines across the waffle top, edge to edge, for square pockets. Stop at the chicken, butter and syrup.

  10. Step 10: The table

Draw a long table line under the plate, just touching its bottom.

  11. Step 11: Sky plate, yellow butter

Go over your lines, then colour the plate sky blue and the butter yellow.

  12. Step 12: Tan waffle top

Colour the top of the waffle tan, around the butter, and around the chicken and syrup too.

  13. Step 13: Light brown side

Colour the side of the waffle light brown, around the drips.

  14. Step 14: Ginger chicken, dark syrup

Colour the chicken ginger and the syrup dark brown. Leave the bone white.
