How to Draw a Chibi Squid
Draw a chibi squid in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: tall round body.
Step 1: Tall round body
Near the top, draw a tall egg body with a small round top and a wide round bottom.
Tip A chibi squid is nearly all body. Make it big.
Step 2: Two fins
High on each side of the body, draw a soft fin pointing out and a little down.
Step 3: Big shiny eyes
Low on the body, draw 2 big oval eyes. Add a big black dot with 2 shines in each.
Step 4: Small smile
Between the eyes, a little lower, draw a small U smile from left to right.
Step 5: Four middle arms
Under the body, draw 4 short arms hanging down, 2 on each side of the middle, with round tips.
Step 6: Four outer arms
Beside them, draw 2 more short arms on each side, leaning out. Leave a gap between arms.
Tip Count the short arms: 4 on each side makes 8.
Step 7: Two long tentacles
From each side of the body, draw 1 long thin tentacle curving out and down to a paddle tip.
Tip 8 short arms and 2 long tentacles make 10 in all.
Step 8: Seabed line
Start on the left, just under the paddles. Draw a flat seabed line and stop on the right.
Tip The 2 paddle tips rest on the seabed.
Step 9: Pink cheeks
Under each eye, colour 1 small pink oval for a blush cheek.
Step 10: Colour it teal
Colour the body, both fins, all 8 arms and both tentacles teal, around the cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
