How to Draw a Chef Hat

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a chef hat in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the band.

Print

  1. Step 1: The band

Low on your paper draw a wide flat box with rounded corners, about as wide as your hand.

Tip A chef's hat is a band with a big puffy cloud on top.

  2. Step 2: The big puff

From the band's top left corner, draw a puffy cloud with 3 round bumps down to the top right corner.

Tip Make the puff much wider than the band, like a cloud sitting on it.

  3. Step 3: Two big eyes

On the puff draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a white shine.

  4. Step 4: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a wide U smile, and a small flat oval cheek beside each end of the smile.

  5. Step 5: Pleats

From the top of the band draw 4 soft curves up the puff, 2 each side of the face.

  6. Step 6: Band line

Across the band draw 1 thin line from side to side, near the top.

  7. Step 7: The table

Draw a long table line under the band, touching its bottom.

  8. Step 8: Sparkles

Draw a four-point sparkle on each side of the puff.

  9. Step 9: White hat

Go over your lines, then colour the whole hat white, band too. Leave the eyes white.

  10. Step 10: Yellow sparkles

    Colour the 2 sparkles yellow.

  11. Step 11: Pink cheeks

Colour the cheeks pink. Your chef's hat is ready for the kitchen!
