How to Draw a Cat with Kittens

14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw a cat with kittens in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: mum's head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Mum's head

On the left draw an egg head on its side with fur points on each cheek. Add 2 pointy ears.

Tip Keep her on the left. The kittens need the right half of the paper.

  2. Step 2: Mum's eyes

In the middle of the head, draw 2 big oval eyes. Add black dots and white shines.

  3. Step 3: Nose and whiskers

Draw a tiny triangle nose with a W smile under it. Add 2 whiskers out from each cheek.

  4. Step 4: Mum's body

From each cheek draw a C down to the ground. From the chin draw 2 legs down to mitten paws.

Tip The legs are wide at the top and thin at the ankle.

  5. Step 5: Paws and tail

Tuck a small bun paw beside each front paw. On the left, draw a thick tail curling up.

  6. Step 6: First kitten's head

Beside the mum draw a small egg head, half her size, with a pointy ear on each top corner.

Tip Its chin is lower than its mum's chin.

  7. Step 7: First kitten's face

Draw 2 big oval eyes with black dots and shines, a tiny triangle nose and a W smile.

  8. Step 8: First kitten's body

From each cheek draw a fat C down to the ground. Add 2 legs and a curly tail.

Tip The 2 legs sit side by side, with one line down the middle and a round paw each.

  9. Step 9: Second kitten's head

To the right draw another egg head, a little smaller, with a pointy ear on each top corner.

  10. Step 10: Second kitten's face

Give it 2 big oval eyes with black dots and shines, a tiny triangle nose and a W smile.

  11. Step 11: Second kitten's body

From its cheeks draw the same fat body, legs and tail. Draw a ground line to join all three cats.

  12. Step 12: Pink noses

    Colour the 3 noses pink.

  13. Step 13: Ginger cats

Colour the mum and the first kitten ginger, around their pink noses. Leave all the eyes white.

  14. Step 14: Grey kitten

Colour the second kitten grey, around its pink nose.
