How to Draw a Vinegaroon
Draw a vinegaroon in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Below the middle of your paper draw a big round head, a bit wider than tall, like a bun.
Step 2: Tummy and whip tail
Draw an egg tummy poking up behind the head. From its top curve a long thin whip up and over.
Tip The tail is a thin whip, not a stinger. It squirts vinegar!
Step 3: Big eyes
In the middle of the head draw 2 big round eyes almost touching. Colour a black dot in each.
Step 4: A big smile
Start under the left eye. Draw a wide U smile, stopping under the right eye. Add a cheek each side.
Step 5: Spiny pincer arms
Beside each eye draw an arm out to an elbow, down to an open pincer, with 2 thorns on top.
Tip The arms reach forward like a crab's, with open pincers.
Step 6: Long feeler legs
Above each arm draw a long thin leg reaching out and a little up, past the elbow.
Tip The front legs are long feelers for finding the way in the dark.
Step 7: Middle legs
Under each pincer draw a bent leg: out to a bend, then down to a point.
Step 8: Bottom legs
Under each cheek draw 2 more bent legs, each out to a bend and down to a point.
Tip 4 legs on each side, plus the 2 pincer arms.
Step 9: Pink cheeks
Colour the two round cheeks pink.
Step 10: Brown arms and legs
Colour the spiny arms, the pincers, the thorns, the whip tail and all the legs brown.
Step 11: Dark slate body
Colour the head and tummy dark slate grey, around the cheeks. Leave the eyes white. Your vinegaroon is done!
