How to Draw a Cat Eating

14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw a cat eating in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: wide cat head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Wide cat head

On the left draw a wide head with a pointed cheek each side, tipping down to the left.

Tip Leave room under it for the bowl, and on the right for the body.

  2. Step 2: Pointed ears

On top of the head draw 2 pointed ears with a small triangle inside each. The left ear is smaller.

  3. Step 3: Big eyes

Across the middle of the head draw 2 oval eyes with black dots. Leave a white shine in each.

Tip Both eyes sit a little to the left, because the head is turned.

  4. Step 4: Snout and whiskers

Low on the left draw an oval snout. From its triangle nose draw down into a w. Add 3 whiskers.

Tip Rub out the head line inside the snout.

  5. Step 5: Food bowl

Draw a ground line. Under the snout draw a round bowl with a little fish on its front.

  6. Step 6: Heap of food

Start left on the bowl top. Draw a bumpy heap of food and stop on the right.

Tip The snout dips into the food, so the bumps hide behind it.

  7. Step 7: Long back

Start behind the head. Draw a long smooth back, curl round the bottom and stop above the ground.

  8. Step 8: Front leg

From under the cheek draw a slim leg down to a round paw with 2 toes, then back up.

Tip The leg gets thinner just above the paw.

  9. Step 9: Tummy and back leg

From the front leg draw the tummy. Then a round thigh down to a paw and up to the bottom.

Tip The back leg bends just above the paw. Add 2 toe lines.

  10. Step 10: Far legs

Under the tummy draw 2 more legs peeking out behind, each with a paw and 1 toe.

  11. Step 11: Curled tail

From the top of the bottom draw a long tail going up. Curl its round tip over to the left.

  12. Step 12: Cream and pink

Colour the snout cream. Colour the nose and ear middles pink. Add a pink cheek under each eye.

  13. Step 13: Grey fur

Colour the cat grey, around the snout and the ear middles. Leave the eyes white.

  14. Step 14: Bowl and food

Colour the food brown. Colour the bowl blue, around the fish. Leave the fish white.
