How to Draw a Webbed Foot

12 steps · Medium · about 9 min

Draw a webbed foot in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: three toes.

Print

  1. Step 1: Three toes

Draw 3 long toes fanning down, like a fork. Start in the middle of the page, stop beside your start.

Tip One wiggly line: down, round a tip, back up, three times. Leave a gap at the top.

  2. Step 2: The leg

From each end of your line draw a short line straight up. Lean the 2 lines apart a little.

  3. Step 3: Feathery top

On the leg draw a cuff of feathers: a flat top, 2 short sides and 3 soft bumps underneath.

Tip The 2 leg lines stop where the bumps meet.

  4. Step 4: Feather rows

Inside the feathers draw a row of 3 U bumps, then a row of 4 below it, side to side.

Tip Feathers overlap like roof tiles.

  5. Step 5: First web

Start at the left toe's tip. Draw a curve scooping up, and stop at the middle toe's tip.

Tip The web is the skin between the toes. It works like a paddle.

  6. Step 6: Second web

Start at the middle toe's tip. Draw the same scooping curve, and stop at the right toe's tip.

  7. Step 7: Edge of the sand

Above the feathers draw a soft wavy line from edge to edge. All the paper below it is sand.

  8. Step 8: A grass tuft

On the wavy line near the left edge, draw 3 grass blades growing up and leaning apart.

  9. Step 9: Two pebbles

Draw 2 oval pebbles on the sand: a big one on the right, a small one at the bottom left.

  10. Step 10: Sand colour

Colour all the sand below the wavy line, going around the feathers, the foot and the pebbles.

  11. Step 11: Yellow feathers

Colour the fluffy feathers yellow and the 2 pebbles grey.

  12. Step 12: Orange foot

Colour the leg, 3 toes and 2 webs orange. Go over your lines and your webbed foot is done!
