How to Draw a Cat and the Fiddle
Draw a cat and the fiddle in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big soft head.
Step 1: Big soft head
Near the top, left of the middle, draw a wide soft head, a little flat on top with round cheeks.
Tip Leave room on the right for the fiddle and above for the moon.
Step 2: Ears and stripes
On each top corner draw a pointy ear with a smaller one inside. Add 3 short stripes between the ears.
Step 3: Two big eyes
In the middle of the head draw 2 big oval eyes, one eye apart. Add black dots and white shines.
Step 4: Nose, smile, whiskers
Draw a small triangle nose with a w smile. From each cheek draw 2 whiskers out past the head.
Step 5: Tall body
Under the head draw a tall pear body, narrow at the shoulders and wider at the hips.
Tip The cat is standing up, so the body is taller than the head.
Step 6: The fiddle
Under the chin draw a figure 8 fiddle pointing right, with a long neck, a curl and 2 sound holes.
Tip The fat end tucks under the cat's jaw. Rub out the body line inside the fiddle.
Step 7: Paw on the neck
From under the fiddle draw a bent arm up to a round paw on the neck. Add 2 toe lines.
Tip The arm gets thinner from the shoulder to the paw. Rub out the bit of neck inside the paw.
Step 8: Bow arm and bow
Draw a bent arm from the other shoulder to a paw with 2 toes. Add a bow across the fiddle.
Tip The bow starts in the paw and stops just past the fiddle. Rub out the body line inside the arm.
Step 9: Legs and paws
Under the body draw 2 short legs down to round paws pointing out. Add 2 toe lines on each.
Step 10: Tail and ground
From the left hip draw a thick tail curling up to a round tip. Add a ground line.
Step 11: Crescent moon
High on the right draw a crescent moon: a big C with a smaller C inside, joined at 2 points.
Step 12: Yellow moon, tan bow
Colour the moon yellow. Colour the thin bow light brown.
Step 13: Ginger fur, pink ears
Colour the cat orange, all but the eyes. Colour the nose and inside the ears pink.
Tip Leave the eyes white.
Step 14: Colour the fiddle
Colour the fiddle and its curl brown, around the bow. Colour the long neck black.
