How to Draw a Carrot
Draw a carrot in 8 easy steps, about 6 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: carrot root.
Step 1: Carrot root
In the middle of your paper draw a tall upside-down teardrop, like an ice cream cone, with a dip.
Step 2: Tall middle leaf
From the dip draw one tall bumpy leaf standing straight up, on a short thin stem.
Step 3: Two side leaves
On each side of the middle leaf draw a shorter bumpy leaf leaning out.
Step 4: Leaf veins
Draw one line up the middle of each leaf, from the dip, stopping before the tip.
Step 5: Upper ridges
On the upper root draw 4 short dashes, taking turns right, left, right, left, each starting on the edge.
Tip Each ridge starts on the edge and stops a little way in.
Step 6: Lower ridges
Keep going down with 4 more dashes, shorter each time as the root gets thinner.
Step 7: Orange root
Go over your lines, then colour the whole root orange.
Step 8: Green leaves
Colour all 3 leaves green.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a carrot, drawn by you.
