How to Draw a Cardboard Rocket
Draw a cardboard rocket in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the box.
Step 1: The box
Low on your paper, draw a standing box, taller than it is wide. Leave room above for the cone.
Step 2: The window
Near the top of the box draw a big round window, almost as wide as the box.
Step 3: The kid's head
Start at the window's lower left. Draw a round head over to its lower right. Add hair and 2 eyes.
Step 4: The smile
Under the eyes, draw a small U smile.
Step 5: The cone
Start at the box's top left corner. Draw a tall pointy cone and stop at the top right corner.
Step 6: Two fins
Start on each side below the window. Slant a fin down to the ground and back to the bottom corner.
Step 7: Painted flames
On the bottom of the box, draw 3 wavy flames, the middle one tallest. Start and stop on the bottom.
Step 8: Tape stripe
Across the box, above the flames, draw 2 straight lines close together for a stripe of tape.
Step 9: Ground line
Start a little in from the left edge. Draw a ground line under the rocket, stopping near the right edge.
Step 10: Cheeks and face
Colour 2 pink cheek dots, then the face peach around them. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Tan hair and tape
Colour the hair and the tape stripe tan.
Step 12: Blue window, orange flames
Colour the window sky blue around the head, and the flames orange.
Step 13: Red cone, brown box
Colour the cone red, then the box and fins brown around the window, tape and flames.
