How to Draw a Caravan

14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw a caravan in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: rounded box.

Print

  1. Step 1: Rounded box

Start low on the left. Draw up the front, round over a long roof and down the back. Stop low.

Tip Make the top corners big and round, like a loaf of bread.

  2. Step 2: Floor and wheel bump

Start where you stopped. Draw a flat floor with one rainbow bump in the middle, back to the front.

  3. Step 3: One fat tyre

Tuck a big round tyre up into the bump. Draw a hubcap circle in its middle.

Tip A caravan has just one wheel on each side.

  4. Step 4: Tow bar

Start low on the front wall. Draw a long bar out to a round tip and back to the wall.

Tip This bar hooks onto the back of a car.

  5. Step 5: Little jockey wheel

Start under the bar near its tip. Draw a short post down, and a small wheel on its end.

Tip The little wheel holds the bar up when no car is pulling.

  6. Step 6: Big window

On the front half of the wall, under the roof, draw one big window with rounded corners.

  7. Step 7: Two curtains

Start on the window's top edge. Curve down to its side edge for a curtain. Do the other side.

  8. Step 8: Tall door

Behind the wheel, draw a tall door standing on the floor. Add a pill handle halfway down.

  9. Step 9: Belt line

Start on the front wall. Rule a level line to the door. Carry on and stop at the back wall.

Tip Keep the line just under the window.

  10. Step 10: The ground

Start in front of the little wheel. Draw a ground line under both wheels, and stop behind the caravan.

  11. Step 11: Yellow and sky blue

Colour both curtains and the door handle yellow. Colour the window glass between the curtains sky blue.

  12. Step 12: Cream top

Colour the top half cream, above the belt line, around the window and the door.

  13. Step 13: Teal bottom, red door

Colour the bottom half teal, below the belt line. Colour the door red around its handle.

  14. Step 14: Grey bits, black tyre

Go over your lines. Colour the tow bar and hubcap grey. Colour the tyre and little wheel black.
