How to Draw a Car Wheel
Draw a car wheel in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the tyre.
Step 1: The tyre
In the middle of your paper draw one BIG circle, almost as wide as the page.
Tip Go round lightly twice to get it smooth.
Step 2: The rim
Draw a second circle inside the big one, 2 fingers in. The fat ring between them is the tyre.
Step 3: Hub cap
Right in the middle draw a small circle for the hub cap.
Step 4: Five bolts
Inside the hub cap draw 5 tiny circles in a ring, evenly spaced. Those are the bolts.
Step 5: Top spokes
From the hub cap draw a spoke up to the rim: 2 close lines. Add one up-left and one up-right.
Step 6: Bottom spokes
Start at the hub cap and draw the last 2 spokes down to the rim, down-left and down-right.
Tip Space all 5 spokes evenly, like a star.
Step 7: The ground
Start at the left side and draw a straight ground line across to the right, touching the tyre.
Step 8: Grey rim
Colour the rim and the spokes grey. Colour the 5 little bolts grey too.
Step 9: Dark tyre
Colour the fat tyre dark grey, all the way round.
Step 10: Black hub cap
Colour the hub cap black around the grey bolts. Your car wheel is done!
