How to Draw a Candle Holder
Draw a candle holder in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the candle.
Step 1: The candle
Above the middle, draw an oval a hand wide. From each end, rule down a hand tall. Join the bottom.
Step 2: The flame
Start on the candle top. Draw a short wick up to a soft teardrop flame. Add a smaller teardrop inside.
Tip Keep the flame soft and rounded, like a drop of water upside down.
Step 3: Two big eyes
In the middle of the candle, draw 2 big egg eyes with a black dot and white shine.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Draw a wide U smile under the eyes. Add a small flat oval cheek beside each end.
Step 5: The drip cup
Under the candle, draw a wider flat oval. From its left end, curve a bowl round to the right end.
Step 6: The stem
From the bowl's bottom, draw 2 lines down that bulge into a round knob halfway, stopping near the page bottom.
Step 7: The base
Under the stem, draw a wide flat oval for the base, as wide as the cup.
Step 8: Drips and glow
Draw 2 little wax drips down the top sides of the candle. Draw 5 short glow lines round the flame.
Step 9: Table and shadow
Under the base, draw a thin flat oval shadow. From each end, draw a long table line out sideways.
Step 10: Cream candle, pink cheeks
Colour the candle cream, going round the face, and the cheeks pink. Keep the eyes white.
Step 11: Gold candlestick
Colour the small inner flame yellow, and the drip cup, stem and base gold yellow.
Step 12: Orange flame, grey shadow
Colour the big flame orange around the yellow, and the shadow grey. Your candle holder is done!
