How to Draw a Bowl
Draw a bowl in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the rim.
Step 1: The rim
Above the middle draw one big wide oval, almost as wide as the page. Draw a smaller oval just inside.
Step 2: The bowl
From the left end of the big oval draw one big U down and round, ending at the right end.
Tip A big smile shape hanging off the oval.
Step 3: Two big eyes
On the bowl, below the rim, draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 4: The foot
Under the middle of the bowl draw a short flat foot, a little wider at the bottom.
Step 5: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile. Draw a small oval cheek just outside each eye, a little lower.
Step 6: Soup and spoon
Inside the rim draw a wavy soup line end to end, and a spoon handle poking up on the right.
Step 7: Steam
Above the rim draw 2 wiggly steam lines rising up, one taller than the other.
Step 8: A stripe
Near the bottom of the bowl, under the cheeks, draw one gentle smile curve across from side to side.
Step 9: Table and shadow
Draw a flat oval shadow with the foot standing in its middle. Draw a table line out from each end.
Step 10: Cream stripe, pink cheeks
Colour the bowl under the stripe cream and the cheeks pink.
Step 11: Orange soup, wood spoon
Colour the soup inside the rim orange and the spoon handle wood brown.
Step 12: Blue bowl, grey shadow
Colour the bowl above the stripe, the rim and the foot blue around the face, and the shadow grey.
Tip Leave the eyes white. Go over your lines and your bowl of soup is done!
