How to Draw Bleachers

14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw bleachers in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the front seat.

Print

  1. Step 1: The front seat

Near the bottom left, draw a long thin plank, much wider than tall. This is the front seat.

Tip Leave room above and to the right for 3 more rows.

  2. Step 2: The seat top

From its top corners, draw 2 short slants up to the right. Join them with a long line.

Tip Every slant leans the same way and is the same length.

  3. Step 3: Under the seat

Under the plank draw a box down to the floor. Start a little in from the plank's left end.

  4. Step 4: The second row

On the seat's back edge, draw the same again: a box, a plank on it and a slanted top.

  5. Step 5: The third row

Stack one more box, plank and slanted top above, set back the same way.

  6. Step 6: The top row

Draw the last box, plank and slanted top. Now 4 rows climb up like big steps.

  7. Step 7: The side

Start at the top seat's back corner. Draw straight down, then slant down to the front row's bottom corner.

  8. Step 8: The frame

On the side, draw a post straight down from each inside corner. Add 2 slanted braces between posts.

  9. Step 9: Foot boards

Along the middle of each slanted top, draw a long line. In front is the seat, behind is for feet.

  10. Step 10: The back rail

From the top row's back edge, draw 7 posts straight up, evenly spaced. Join their tops with one long bar.

  11. Step 11: The ground

Draw a ground line under the front row, from one edge of your paper to the other.

  12. Step 12: Wooden seats

Colour the 4 seat boards and their front edges light brown.

  13. Step 13: Grey metal

Colour the foot boards behind each seat and the stepped side light grey.

  14. Step 14: Dark fronts

Colour the front under each seat dark grey. Go over your lines. Your bleachers are done!
