How to Draw a Bison
Draw a bison in 12 steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top left of your paper draw a big round head, a little wider than tall, with soft cheeks.
Tip Leave lots of room on the right for the body.
Step 2: Eyes and nose
Draw 2 big eyes below the middle of the head, with black dots. Add a big egg nose and smile.
Step 3: Horns and ears
Draw fluffy hair on the head. Add a short horn curving out and up each side, a leaf ear below.
Step 4: Neck and hump
From behind the hair, draw the neck up over a tall hump. Stop a little way down the back.
Step 5: The body
From the end of the hump, draw the back down to a round bottom, then the tummy to the chest.
Step 6: Two legs
Draw a low ground line. From the chest draw a front leg down to a hoof, then a back leg.
Tip A hoof is a little doorstop, flat on the ground.
Step 7: The far legs
Start on the tummy behind the front leg. Draw a thinner leg down to a hoof. Repeat at the back.
Step 8: The tail
Draw a tail down from the top corner of the bottom, thinner at the end, with a leaf tuft.
Step 9: Shaggy fur
From the back behind the hump, draw a line of fur bumps down to the tummy. Add a bumpy beard.
Step 10: Colour the ears
Colour the ear insides peach.
Step 11: Light back half
Go over your lines. Colour the nose, the back half, the back legs and the tail wood brown.
Step 12: Dark shaggy front
Colour the front half, front legs, head, beard and tuft brown around the nose. Colour horns and hooves grey.
Tip Leave the eyes white.
