How to Draw Biryani
Draw biryani in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the rim.
Step 1: The rim
A little above the middle of your paper draw a wide flat oval for the top of a round pot.
Step 2: The round pot
Start at the oval's left end. Draw the pot bulging out like a ball, round to the right end.
Tip Biryani is layered rice cooked in a round pot called a handi.
Step 3: A dome of rice
From the rim's left end, draw a tall bumpy dome over to the right end. Rub out the rim inside.
Step 4: A big drumstick
On the dome draw a big drumstick: an egg of meat on the left with a bone going up right.
Tip Make it big and let the knuckle poke up over the dome.
Step 5: A lime wedge
Under the knuckle draw a half-round lime wedge. Inside, draw a rind curve end to end and 3 thin lines.
Step 6: Mint leaves
Draw 2 pointed mint leaves, one under the bone, one low on the left, each with a middle line.
Step 7: Saffron rice
Low on the front of the dome, draw 2 big bumpy patches for the yellow saffron rice.
Step 8: Steam
Above the rice draw 2 wiggly steam lines, starting a little above the dome and going up.
Step 9: The band
Start on the pot's left side just under the rim. Draw a bowed stripe round to the right side.
Step 10: The table
Draw a line under the pot from far left to far right, just touching its bottom.
Step 11: Cream rice, yellow saffron
Go over your lines, then colour the saffron patches yellow and the rest of the rice cream.
Step 12: Green lime and mint
Colour the lime and the 2 mint leaves light green.
Step 13: Brown chicken
Colour the chicken meat brown, leaving the bone white.
Step 14: Grey pot, navy band
Colour the pot grey and the band under the rim navy. Your biryani is done!
