How to Draw Bird Feet
Draw bird feet in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: feathery leg tops.
Step 1: Feathery leg tops
Near the top draw 2 feathery leg tops side by side: flat on top, 3 soft bumps along the bottom.
Tip Leave a gap between them, and lots of room underneath.
Step 2: Feather row
Across the middle of each leg top draw 3 more soft bumps, from one side to the other.
Step 3: Two thin legs
Start under each leg top. Draw 2 lines down, a little closer at the bottom. Stop just past halfway.
Tip Bird legs are thin, like twigs.
Step 4: Three long toes
From one leg line, draw 3 long pointy toes fanning down like a fork, up to the other leg line.
Tip One wiggly line: down, tip, up, down, tip, up, down, tip, up. The middle toe is longest.
Step 5: Back toes
Start on the outer side of each ankle. Draw a short pointy toe up and out, back to the leg.
Step 6: Scaly rings
Draw 3 short curved lines across each leg for its scaly rings.
Step 7: Edge of the sand
Draw a soft wavy line from edge to edge, hopping behind both legs. All the paper below it is sand.
Step 8: Two pebbles
Draw 2 small oval pebbles on the sand, one at the right and one at the bottom left.
Step 9: Sand colour
Colour all the sand below the wavy line, going around the legs, toes and pebbles.
Step 10: Yellow feathers
Colour the 2 feathery leg tops yellow and the 2 pebbles grey.
Step 11: Orange feet
Colour both legs and all 8 toes orange. Go over your lines and your bird feet are done.
