How to Draw a Spinosaurus
Draw a spinosaurus in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: long crocodile head.
Step 1: Long crocodile head
Near the top left, draw a long low head like a flat bean, with a long thin crocodile snout.
Tip The snout is the longest part of the head.
Step 2: Big eye
Draw a big eye with a shine, high at the back of the head. Dot a nostril at the tip.
Step 3: Back and fat tail
Start behind the head. Draw one long line down the back and along a fat tail, stopping under the bottom.
Step 4: The big sail
Start on the back behind the head. Draw a huge round sail, ending on the back near the tail.
Tip Add 4 lines spreading out from the back, like a paper fan. The sail is taller than the head.
Step 5: Toothy grin
Start under the nostril. Draw a long smile back to the cheek. Hang 5 big V teeth from it.
Tip Space the teeth along the back of the smile, like a crocodile.
Step 6: Chest and tiny arm
Start under the jaw. Draw a soft C chest, ending at the hip. Add a tiny arm with 2 claws.
Step 7: Big front leg
From the end of the chest line, draw a big drumstick leg with 3 round toes on the ground.
Step 8: Tummy
Start at the back of the thigh. Draw a short saggy curve and stop where the tail line ended.
Step 9: Back leg and ground
Start on the tummy behind the thigh. Draw a thinner leg and stop under the tail. Add a ground line.
Tip 3 round toes, a step behind the front heel.
Step 10: Tummy patch
Start on the chest under the jaw. Draw one long curve down to the thigh for the tummy patch.
Step 11: Cream tummy, orange sail
Colour the tummy patch cream. Then colour the whole sail orange.
Tip Teal body, orange sail: the sail should glow.
Step 12: Colour it teal
Go over your lines. Colour the dinosaur teal around the sail and tummy. Leave the eye and teeth white.
Tip Press harder on the back leg so it sits behind.
