How to Draw the Owl and the Pussycat
Draw the owl and the pussycat in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the boat.
Step 1: The boat
Low on the page draw a wide boat: a sagging rim, a point at each end, a round bottom.
Tip Then draw a second line just under the rim, from side to side.
Step 2: Owl's head
Above the left half of the boat draw a wide egg head with 2 feather tufts on its top corners.
Tip Leave a gap between the head and the boat for the body.
Step 3: Owl's eyes and beak
Draw 2 big round eyes with black dots, close together. Hang a pointed beak between them.
Tip Leave a small white shine in each black dot.
Step 4: Heart face
Start at one top corner of the beak. Draw a heart round both eyes, back to the other corner.
Step 5: Owl's body
From the head draw 2 wings curving down to the boat. Add an inner line each and 5 U feathers.
Step 6: Cat's head
Right of the owl draw a wide round head with 2 pointed ears. Draw a small triangle inside each ear.
Step 7: Cat's face
Draw 2 oval eyes with black dots, a triangle nose and a w mouth. Add 2 whiskers from each cheek.
Tip The whiskers start on the head line and stop well before the owl.
Step 8: Body, paws and tail
From the head draw 2 body sides down to the boat. Put 2 paws on the rim. Add a tail.
Tip Draw 2 toe lines on each paw. Rub out the rim line inside the paws.
Step 9: Wavy sea
Start at the left edge. Draw small hill bumps across the bottom of the boat. Stop at the right edge.
Tip Rub out the bottom of the boat under the waves. Add a short row of bumps lower down.
Step 10: Moon and stars
High between the 2 heads draw a curved moon. Add a star in each top corner.
Step 11: Yellow and pink
Colour the moon, stars, owl's eyes and beak yellow. Colour the cat's nose and inner ears pink.
Step 12: Cream and orange
Colour the owl's face and tummy and the cat's paws cream. Colour the cat orange. Leave its eyes white.
Step 13: Brown and green
Colour the owl brown, around its cream face and tummy. Colour the boat pea green.
Step 14: Blue sea
Colour the sea blue, from the waves down to the bottom of the paper.
