How to Draw a Bear Silhouette
Draw a bear silhouette in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big sun.
Step 1: Big sun
Draw a huge circle for the setting sun, nearly as wide as your paper.
Tip Draw it lightly. The bear will stand inside it.
Step 2: Head and eye
Inside the sun, on the left, draw a big head with a blunt nose pointing left. Add a tiny eye.
Step 3: Two round ears
On top of the head, draw 2 small round ears, one a little behind the other.
Step 4: Body with a hump
Behind the head, draw a long fat bean body. Give it a hump just behind the ears.
Tip The hump is the bear's strong shoulders. The back slopes down to a round rump.
Step 5: The ground
Start on the left of the sun, low down. Draw an almost flat line across and stop on the right.
Step 6: Front legs
Under the chest, draw 2 thick legs down to the ground. End each one in a flat paw pointing left.
Tip Leave a gap between them so you can see both legs.
Step 7: Back legs
Under the rump, draw 2 thick back legs down to the ground, with flat paws pointing left.
Tip Leave a big gap under the tummy between the front and back legs.
Step 8: Stubby tail
On the back of the rump, draw a tiny round tail.
Step 9: Orange sun
Colour the sun above the ground orange. Go carefully around the bear and between its legs.
Step 10: Black ground
Colour the ground under the bear black.
Step 11: Solid black bear
Colour the whole bear black, even the ears, legs and tail. Leave the tiny eye white.
Tip A silhouette is a solid dark shape with no details inside.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a bear silhouette, drawn by you.
