How to Draw a Water Buffalo
Draw a water buffalo in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big square head.
Step 1: Big square head
Near the top left of your paper draw a big soft square head, a little wider than tall.
Step 2: Eyes and muzzle
Draw 2 big eyes in the middle of the head. Add a wide muzzle with 2 nostrils and a smile.
Step 3: Horns and ears
Draw 2 thick horns from the top corners, curving out, up and in. Add a leaf ear each side.
Tip Make each horn fat near the head and thin at the tip, with 2 rings near the head.
Step 4: The neck
From under the right ear draw a short neck line sloping down to nose level. Add one under the chin.
Step 5: The body
Start at the bottom of the neck. Draw a big soft bean body and stop back at the neck.
Tip A bean, not a loaf: the bottom is rounder and higher than the chest.
Step 6: Two legs
Draw a front leg under the chest and a back leg under the back end, each thinner to a hoof.
Tip A hoof is a flat doorstop with a split up the middle.
Step 7: Far legs
Add 2 thinner far legs peeking out behind the first ones, each with its own hoof.
Step 8: Ground line
Draw a ground line under all 4 hooves, from side to side.
Step 9: The tail
Start on the back end. Draw a thin tail hanging down, ending in a soft tuft of hair.
Step 10: Peach and stone
Colour the ear insides peach. Colour the horns and the tail tuft stone grey.
Step 11: Light grey
Colour the muzzle and the 4 hooves light grey.
Step 12: Dark grey buffalo
Colour the head, ears, body, legs and tail dark grey, around the pale parts. Leave the eyes white.
