How to Draw a Bear Roaring
Draw a bear roaring in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big head.
Step 1: Big head
Near the top, in the middle, draw a big head wider than tall, like a sideways egg.
Tip Leave room on both sides for two raised arms.
Step 2: Round ears
Draw a round ear top left and right, from the head back to it. Add a bean inside each.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Above the middle of the head draw 2 big round eyes, with black dots and a shine.
Step 4: Snout and nose
Under the eyes draw a big tall oval, poking past the chin. Add a black rounded triangle nose on top.
Tip Rub out the chin line inside the oval.
Step 5: Roaring mouth
Draw a short line down from the nose. Start under it, go across, round a deep U, and stop.
Tip A wide open mouth makes the roar. ROAR!
Step 6: Teeth and tongue
Start at the top of the mouth and draw 2 pointy teeth. Add a hill tongue at the bottom.
Step 7: Tall body
Start under the left cheek. Draw a big pear body, widest low down, and stop under the right cheek.
Step 8: Tummy patch
On the tummy draw a big egg, from under the snout down to near the bottom.
Step 9: Raised arms
Start at each shoulder. Draw a fat arm out and up to a round paw, then back to the body.
Tip The arm bends at the elbow and the paw is level with the eyes.
Step 10: Legs and feet
Start under the body. Draw 2 short fat legs down to wide feet with flat bottoms.
Step 11: Toes and ground
Add 3 short toe lines on each paw and each foot. Rule the ground under the feet.
Step 12: Tan and pink
Colour the snout around the mouth, the tummy egg and the ear beans tan. Colour the tongue pink.
Step 13: Red mouth
Colour inside the mouth red, around the tongue. Leave the 2 teeth white.
Step 14: Brown fur
Colour the head, ears, body, arms and legs brown, around the tan parts. Leave the eyes white.
