How to Draw a Beach Chair
Draw a beach chair in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the back rail.
Step 1: The back rail
Draw a long rail leaning back, 2 lines a finger apart, from high on the left down to the right.
Step 2: Front leg
Draw a front leg from low on the left, crossing the rail like an X, up to the right.
Step 3: Top and front bars
Add a short bar across the top of the rail, and another across the top of the leg.
Step 4: Saggy seat
From each end of the top bar, draw a saggy curve down to that end of the front bar.
Tip The cloth dips low in the middle, like a hammock.
Step 5: The far legs
Under the seat, draw the other rail and leg peeking out to the right, crossing like an X too.
Step 6: Stripes
Along the seat, draw 3 saggy lines from the top bar to the front bar, evenly spaced.
Step 7: Sea and shore
From the left edge, draw a sea line over to the right edge, and a wavy shore line lower down.
Tip Stop each line at the chair and start it again on the other side.
Step 8: The sun
In the top right corner, draw a round sun with 8 short rays round it.
Step 9: A beach ball
On the sand at the right, draw a round beach ball with 2 curved lines from top to bottom.
Step 10: Sandy beach
Colour the sand below the wavy line sand colour, around the chair and the ball, and the sun yellow.
Step 11: Red and white stripes
Colour the seat stripes red and white, taking turns from the left, and the ball's middle red.
Step 12: Blue sea
Colour the sea blue, all the way to the edges and around the chair.
Step 13: Wooden frame
Colour the rails, legs and bars wood brown. Go over your lines and your beach chair is done!
