How to Draw a Bat
Draw a bat in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the face.
Step 1: The face
Just above the middle of your paper draw a face like an upside-down teardrop, with a soft pointed chin.
Tip Leave lots of room on both sides for wings.
Step 2: Tall pointed ears
On top of the head draw 2 tall pointed triangle ears, leaning out. Draw a smaller triangle inside each.
Step 3: Nose and smile
Above the chin draw a small upside-down teardrop nose. From its point draw a short line down to a smile.
Step 4: Big eyes
Across the middle of the head draw 2 big eggy eyes. Colour a big black dot low in each.
Step 5: Small round body
Under the chin draw a small egg body, narrower than the head. Rub out the bit inside the head.
Step 6: Left wing
Start left of the body. Draw a huge wing out to a point, then a wavy bottom back to it.
Step 7: Right wing
Draw the same wing on the right: out to the tip, then a wavy bottom back to the body.
Step 8: Wing fingers
Inside each wing draw 2 finger lines from the body out to the dips in the wavy edge.
Step 9: Full moon
Up in the top right corner draw a big round moon, a little way from the ear and wing.
Step 10: Pink ears, yellow moon
Colour the inside of the ears and the nose pink. Colour the moon yellow and go over your lines.
Step 11: Dark grey bat
Colour the head, ears, body and wings dark grey, going around the pink. Leave the eyes white.
